The MCD-1 “Petrovsko-Razumovskaya” station, located in the northern part of Moscow, is nearing completion and is scheduled to open this year. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has confirmed the station’s imminent opening. This new station will provide crucial transfer connections to two metro lines and the MCD-3.
The construction site is currently bustling with activity as workers finalize various elements of the station. The station’s readiness was reported to be at 78% in early April, with ongoing finishing work, installation of engineering systems, and adjustment of elevators and escalators.
One of the station’s exits is strategically located near the entrance of the existing metro stations with the same name, facilitating seamless transfers for passengers. The platform on MCD-1 is designed as an island-type, curved along the direction of the trains, and is largely complete, awaiting the installation of canopies and navigation elements.
The concourse building, facing Komdiva Orlova Street, features a protruding visor and is undergoing interior finishing work, including the installation of escalators and stairs. The pedestrian gallery inside the concourse is also being finalized.
Upon completion, the Petrovsko-Razumovskaya transport hub will integrate two metro lines, two Moscow Central Diameters, and a future stop for the High-Speed Mainline (HSM-1) to St. Petersburg. The MCD-3 platform will also be relocated closer to the metro to improve connectivity.
The project passport indicates that construction will be completed in the fourth quarter of this year, with an expected daily ridership of 11,000 people by 2030. Provisions have also been made for the potential construction of a second platform in the future.
