A heavy downpour caused significant flooding and damage in Novosibirsk on Tuesday, June 3, prompting the city’s Unified Duty Dispatch Service to receive 14 reports of weather-related incidents. The Dzerzhinsky and Central districts were the most affected areas.
The mayor’s office reported that half of the calls concerned flooded roadways, while three involved flooded buildings. Three reports were made about fallen trees or branches. Additionally, one report detailed a roof that had been torn off by the wind.
Tram traffic was restored by 4:30 PM after the flooding of tracks at the intersection of Trikotazhnaya and Aviastroiteley streets. Trolleybus traffic resumed on Dzerzhinsky Avenue, Profylakticheskaya Street, and Boris Bogatkov Street, following efforts by the Road Maintenance Department (DEU) and track service team.
On Kombinatsky Lane, the wind tore off the roof of a warehouse, damaging nearby cars. The warehouse owner will conduct repairs and compensate the affected car owners based on an assessment of the damage.
