Children’s Curfew in Russia Reimposed for Summer Months

A nationwide curfew for children is in effect in Russia from June 1st to August 31st, prohibiting minors from being in public places without adult supervision during late evening and nighttime hours. The rule aims to ensure the safety and well-being of children during the summer holiday period.

The curfew generally applies from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, though regional authorities have the power to adjust these hours based on local conditions. Some regions may extend the curfew until 11:00 PM during the summer school break.

During curfew hours, children under 18 are not allowed to be on streets, in public areas such as stadiums and concert halls, or on public transportation without a parent or guardian. Violators will be taken to the police station, and their parents or guardians may face fines ranging from 100 to 500 rubles for inadequate supervision.

Repeat offenders may face more serious consequences, including being placed on a preventative record with the police. This can create problems with acceptance into military academies or law enforcement educational institutions.

The specific details of the curfew, including age restrictions and time frames, can vary from region to region due to climatic and seasonal factors. Regional authorities are able to adjust the rules to accommodate the time of sunset and other local considerations.
