Cherry Prices Rise in Novosibirsk: Kilogram Now Costs 600 Rubles

Cherry prices in Novosibirsk have increased, with the average cost now at 600 rubles per kilogram. This rise is attributed to factors such as increased transportation and customs expenses, as stated by local sellers.

Consumers can find varying prices across different vendors. Some stalls near the Jupiter shopping center offer cherries for 500 rubles per kilogram, though the seller noted that these may not be as flavorful as the more expensive options.

Retail chains have also started to import cherries, offering them at competitive prices. Magnit in the Galereya, for example, sells cherries for 489 rubles per kilogram, though deliveries to these stores have only recently commenced.

Early cherry varieties suffered damage due to May frosts, according to the Ministry of Agriculture. This resulted in the destruction of over 100,000 hectares of various agricultural crops. Oksana Lut, the head of the Ministry, confirmed that these weather-related losses have contributed to the overall increase in cherry prices.
