Operations at Domodedovo, Vnukovo, Sheremetyevo, and Zhukovsky airports in the Moscow region have been temporarily restricted. Rosaviatsiya announced the restrictions, enacting what is known as the “Carpet” plan.
Real-time flight tracking data shows no aircraft currently flying over the Moscow region. Flights scheduled to land in Moscow are circling in neighboring regions, including Yaroslavl, Tver, and Vladimir.
Previous airport closures were due to the threat of UAV attacks. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
