A man was injured after crashing a “Haval” onto the lawn of the Ice Arena (LDS) late at night. The driver, who witnesses say was behaving erratically with his wife and two children in the parking lot, apparently lost control of the vehicle.

According to eyewitness accounts, the man accelerated in the parking lot, failed to recognize the parking lot’s end, and drove off the curb at high speed. The vehicle struck a hill, causing it to overturn multiple times.

Eyewitnesses rushed to the scene and found the driver ejected from the car, lying approximately fifteen meters away. He was unconscious but breathing, and witnesses refrained from moving him until paramedics arrived.

The incident occurred around 11:55 PM. One witness estimated the “Haval” was traveling at least 120 kilometers per hour before braking just meters from the curb. The car is reported to be a rental and was completely wrecked in the accident. At the time of the crash, the driver was alone in the vehicle.

The State traffic Inspectorate has been contacted for comment regarding the accident. This incident follows a previous SUV rollover on Pervomayka after a collision with a sedan.
