A bus carrying approximately 60 passengers caught fire in Barnaul on the evening of June 18. According to the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations, all passengers were able to evacuate the vehicle independently, and no injuries were reported.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Lentochyi Bor highway and Yuzhny Trakt. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire originated in the engine compartment of the bus.
The fire spread, encompassing an area of 18 square meters.
Six rescuers and two fire trucks were dispatched to the scene to combat the blaze.
Authorities have confirmed that no children were among the passengers on the bus. The likely cause of the fire is being attributed to a technical malfunction affecting one of the bus’s components.
