Bulgarian Consulate General in St. Petersburg Temporarily Restricts Application Acceptance

The Bulgarian Consulate General in St. Petersburg has implemented a temporary suspension on accepting applications for certain types of visas and Bulgarian documents, impacting individuals seeking consular services. The restrictions, which began at the start of the week, have caused concerns among those planning travel or requiring documentation.

Since June 3rd, the consulate has stopped accepting applications for Bulgarian documents and type D visas. Further restrictions are scheduled to take effect on June 10th, when applications for type C visas will also be suspended.

While the consulate’s reception confirmed the restrictions, they directed inquiries to the information board for details. The reasons behind the suspension of services remain officially undisclosed.

The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) has also acknowledged the situation, noting that no appointment slots are available at the visa center until at least June 16th. The situation in Moscow’s Bulgarian visa center mirrors this, with no available regular appointments until June 23rd.
