A bridge collapsed in the Kursk region, causing a freight train to derail and fall onto a highway below, resulting in injuries to the locomotive crew and traffic disruption. The incident occurred at the 48th km of the Trosna-Kalinovka highway in the Zheleznogorsky district.

Part of the train fell onto the highway after the bridge gave way as the locomotive was crossing. The locomotive subsequently caught fire, but emergency services were able to extinguish the blaze quickly. The remaining train cars are currently on the railway platform.

According to preliminary reports, one of the locomotive engineers sustained leg injuries. The entire crew was taken to a hospital and is receiving medical care.

Traffic on the road beneath the collapsed bridge is currently blocked, and detours are in place. Authorities are investigating the cause of the bridge collapse, and all emergency services are at the scene.

This incident follows another bridge collapse in the Bryansk region, where a passenger train derailed, resulting in fatalities and injuries.
