A bridge collapse near Vygonichi, 23 km from Bryansk, has caused a multi-kilometer traffic jam on the A-240 highway. The incident occurred on the night of June 1st, impacting both road transport and passenger trains.
Governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, confirmed the collapse, stating that injuries were reported and emergency services are at the scene.
The collapse has created a significant traffic bottleneck, with Yandex.Maps reporting a 2.5 km traffic jam on the Vygonichi side leading up to the bridge. Drivers indicate that traffic is completely blocked due to the collapsed structure.
The A-240 highway is a crucial route connecting Bryansk with the border of Belarus, heading towards Gomel.
