The body of a young man who drowned earlier this week has been recovered in the village of Vlasikha, Barnaul. The discovery was made near the dam on the Vlasikha River.

The regional Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed the finding on June 5. Rescuers, divers from the regional search and rescue center, and police officers were all involved in the search efforts.

The search began after the teenager was reported missing on June 4. A friend of the missing teen shared the news on social media, mentioning the incident occurred at the dam in Vlasikha. The friend indicated the boy was last seen when friends arrived to meet him. His belongings were found on the shore, leading to him being declared wanted.

Competent authorities will investigate the circumstances surrounding the drowning. This incident follows a similar tragedy in Novosibirsk, where a 14-year-old drowned near Arena park.
