The body of a 17-year-old girl, missing since March, was found in the Gulf of Finland, near St. Petersburg. Investigators believe she may have fallen through the ice.
The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for St. Petersburg reported the discovery on June 10. The girl had been missing since she left home in a distressed state on an evening in March.
Vacationers on a boat spotted the body on the morning of June 8, near the Yacht Bridge. The Investigative Committee confirmed her identity.
Forensic experts are currently working to determine the exact cause of death.
