Barnaul Seamstress Finds Success Sewing Clothes for Corgis

Olga Voloshina, a 27-year-old resident of Barnaul, Russia, has found success and popularity as a seamstress specializing in clothing for corgis. After posting a humorous video of her corgi, August, dressed in a criminal’s outfit, she received numerous requests for similar items.

Olga’s journey began with a passion for sewing, which she pursued alongside her studies in economics. Despite graduating with an economics degree in 2020, she took sewing courses and gained experience in a studio before venturing out on her own.

Initially, Olga focused on sewing swimsuits, but her business took a turn when she and her husband acquired another corgi, August. A viral video of August in a custom-made outfit led to a surge in orders from corgi owners across Russia and even abroad, including Dubai.

Using a dog pattern purchased online, Olga refined her designs to achieve a perfect fit. Each garment is made to individual measurements using natural fabrics to ensure comfort for the dogs. Her product range includes grunge shirts, sweatshirts, pajamas, hoodies, bandanas, and ties, with prices ranging from 700 to 3100 rubles.

Olga’s corgis, August and Marsi, play a vital role in her business. Marsi actively participates in fittings, earning treats for her cooperation. Olga also uses special perfumes for her dogs when guests are expected.

Olga emphasizes that dog fashion is primarily about expressing love and affection for pets rather than strict practicality. She aims to set trends in the world of corgi fashion. She plans to create denim panamas with frayed edges for the summer.

The “corgi” community in Barnaul is thriving, with over 300 members in a local chat group. Olga finds joy and inspiration in her corgis, appreciating their unique characters and forgiving their occasional mischief.
