Barnaul Resident Becomes Popular Russian Seamstress Sewing Clothes for Corgis

Olga Voloshina, a 27-year-old from Barnaul, has gained popularity throughout Russia for her unique business: sewing clothes for corgis. Inspired by her own dogs, August and Marsi, Voloshina creates custom outfits for furry friends, catering to owners who want to express their love and affection for their pets.

Last fall, a video of August in a “criminal” outfit went viral, leading to a flood of orders. Voloshina’s creations include grunge shirts, sweatshirts, pajamas, hoodies, bandanas, and ties, with prices ranging from 700 rubles for small accessories to 3100 rubles for clothing. She also offers “family look” options for owners who want to match their dogs.

Voloshina emphasizes the use of natural fabrics and individual measurements to ensure comfort for the corgis. She meticulously crafts each garment, paying attention to detail as if she were making clothes for humans. While practicality is a factor for some owners who want to protect their dogs from the cold or shedding, Voloshina believes that dog fashion is primarily about emotions and capturing special moments.

Marsi plays an important role in the business, assisting with fittings in exchange for treats. Voloshina bought her first dog pattern online and modified it to fit her dogs perfectly.

Looking ahead, Voloshina plans to introduce denim panamas for the summer and aims to be a trendsetter in the corgi fashion world. She finds joy and inspiration in her corgis, whose silly antics bring her happiness.

The “corgi” community in Barnaul is thriving, with over 300 members in a chat group sharing information about their pets. Voloshina even uses special perfumes for her dogs when guests visit.
