Baley residents are being asked to conserve water when watering their gardens due to critically low water levels at the city’s water pumping station. This request comes after the connection of the summer water pipeline exacerbated the effects of a two-year drought, according to acting city head Viktor Kvyatkov.
The main well supplying water for the summer pipeline, used for watering garden plots, is experiencing a significant decrease in water level. Kvyatkov explained that the summer pipeline is connected to the main system, and the ongoing dry period has contributed to the depletion of the well.
While residents have not yet experienced any disruptions in their water supply, they are urged to use water sparingly to prevent potential issues.
The Commission on Emergency Situations (KChS) will convene on June 2 to discuss the problem and explore potential solutions.
Prior to this announcement, on May 29, district authorities had already requested that citizens monitor the water supply system for leaks, promptly repair any that are found, avoid watering potatoes excessively, and generally use water rationally.
