Balcony Structures Collapsed on Two Floors of Residential Complex in Yekaterinburg

Balconies collapsed on two floors of the “Depo” residential complex in Yekaterinburg on the morning of August 31st. The incident occurred in a building under construction at the corner of Tavatuykaya and Sortirovochnaya streets.

The developer, “Brusnika,” stated that no one was injured in the incident. According to their preliminary assessment, the collapse was due to incorrect installation of supporting formwork by the contractor. The company has initiated an internal investigation and plans to conduct additional training for the contracting organization.

This is not the first incident at the “Depo” construction site. In late May, a span structure collapsed, causing two workers to fall from a height.

“Brusnika” has been operating in Yekaterinburg since September 30, 2011, with Alexey Krukovsky as the ultimate owner. The company has offices in several regions, including Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra, the Moscow region, Kurgan, Tyumen, Omsk, Novosibirsk, and Moscow. The company has seven projects in Yekaterinburg, including one in Akademichesky and has won an auction for land on Uralmash for integrated territorial development. They are also planning a large-scale project behind the Makarovsky Bridge.

Earlier this week, an office building collapsed in Elizavet. In April, a worker died after falling from the 13th floor at a construction site in Yekaterinburg.
