Unfavorable weather conditions are expected to develop in Western Siberia from August 1st to August 3rd, including heavy rains, thunderstorms, and strong winds. Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, reported a sharp temperature drop of 5-6 degrees below normal starting Sunday in the region.
The affected areas include the Novosibirsk, Tomsk, and Kemerovo regions, as well as the Krasnoyarsk Territory, all of which are forecast to experience these severe weather events. Wind gusts could reach up to 21 m/s.
In addition to the aforementioned regions, the Altai Republic is also bracing for heavy rains accompanied by wind gusts reaching up to 22 m/s.
Authorities had previously released a detailed weather forecast specifically for Novosibirsk for the month of August.
