Yekaterinburg residents are expressing outrage over the Avtomobilist hockey club’s decision to increase season ticket prices by over 80% for the upcoming 2025-2026 season. The price hike coincides with the team’s move to the new Ice Arena in March.
The most expensive season tickets, located in sections C103, C102, and A102 near the ice rink or team benches, now cost 103,700 rubles for new season ticket holders. Loyal fans who purchased season tickets last year will pay a slightly reduced price, ranging from 69,400 to 72,600 rubles, for the same seats.
Fans are criticizing the steep price increase, with some suggesting the club is trying to recoup the cost of building the new arena by burdening season ticket holders. One long-time attendee, who has been going to matches since 2013, expressed shock at the sudden rise, noting that previous increases were gradual.
According to the Telegram channel “Drown the Ice | Hockey,” the average cost of a season ticket, excluding the action zone, is 50,767 rubles. With the minimum season ticket price at 30,000 rubles (or 21,000 rubles with a discount), the author suggests Avtomobilist could have the most expensive season tickets in the league this season.
