A criminal investigation for attempted murder has been initiated after a newborn girl was discovered abandoned in a cellophane bag in the village of Dubrovka, Vsevolozhsk district of the Leningrad region. The infant is currently under medical supervision.
The discovery was made by janitors around noon on Tomilin Street the previous day. While cleaning, the janitors noticed a supermarket bag containing the child. A mechanic passing by called for emergency medical assistance.
Preliminary information suggests the girl was found approximately two hours after birth. Doctors found hematomas on the baby’s head and assessed her condition as moderately severe before transporting her to the Vsevolozhsk maternity hospital.
Authorities have seized the bag and a disposable diaper from the scene as evidence. Law enforcement is actively searching for the child’s mother. Initial reports from Telegram channels indicate the package containing the baby may have been thrown from a moving vehicle.
