A police officer’s car was set on fire in St. Petersburg, with footage revealing a teenager as the alleged arsonist. The incident occurred on June 5th near house number 8 on Zakharievskaya Street, with the fire department responding to the scene at 7:56 PM and extinguishing the blaze by 8:08 PM.
The torched vehicle belonged to an employee of the Center for Financial Support of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Video evidence shows a young male, dressed in a cap and shorts, pouring a flammable liquid onto the hood of the car. He then reportedly observed the aftermath, watching a policeman react to the smoke emanating from the engine compartment.
According to reports, the teenager claims he was coerced into committing the act by telephone scammers who posed as authority figures. The scammers allegedly threatened him with being sent to an orphanage, prompting him to carry out the arson. The incident is under investigation.
