Denis Yakimov and Vadim Nemchenko have been arrested in Novosibirsk in connection with the armed robbery of the “Perspektiva” factory and the murder of a security guard. The Kalininsky District Court of Novosibirsk ordered their detention on June 4th.
According to the investigation, the incident occurred on June 2nd. Yakimov, an employee of the factory, and Nemchenko allegedly planned to rob the factory, but the situation escalated, resulting in the guard’s death from multiple stab wounds. They are accused of stealing two vehicles – a factory-owned “Gazelle” and the guard’s Kia Sportage – along with tools and equipment valued at approximately 1 million rubles.
During interrogation, Yakimov confessed to stabbing the guard, while Nemchenko claimed he was only helping a friend move belongings and was unaware of the murder. Nemchenko’s defense argued he was arriving at the factory as the murder occurred and has evidence to support his claims, including taxi driver testimony, phone records, and surveillance footage. He also cited health issues as a reason to avoid pre-trial detention.
Both Yakimov and Nemchenko have prior criminal records for property crimes. Yakimov, a welder, has previous convictions for theft, with a history of stealing construction tools. Nemchenko, formerly an auto mechanic, has been tried for hooliganism, making threats, and armed robbery.
