Archpriest Dmitry Babkin, the secretary of the Kain Diocese, tragically died in a car accident on June 3rd in the Novosibirsk region at the age of 41. The Kain Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Novosibirsk Metropolis announced his passing on its website.

The accident took place at 7:30 PM in the Barabinsky district. Babkin was driving a Suzuki Grand Vitara on the Novosibirsk – Zyuzya – Kvashino road when he lost control at the 54th kilometer, causing the vehicle to veer into a ditch and overturn.

Father Dmitry, who served in various roles within the Novosibirsk and Kain Dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church for many years, leaves behind his wife and five children.

The diocese will announce the details regarding the funeral service and burial at a later time.
