The annual art fair “From a Professor’s Apartment” is set to take place at the House of Radio on August 2nd and 3rd, offering a diverse program of art, lectures, film screenings, and concerts. Visitors can explore a wide range of artworks and engage with St. Petersburg’s cultural scene.
The art fair will be held at the House of Radio (Nevsky Prospekt, 62) on August 2nd and 3rd from 12:00 to 20:00 with tickets available for purchase.
The event features an exhibition by KGallery, showcasing lithographs of Leningrad classics and works by nonconformist and avant-garde artists, including Serge Poliakoff and Raoul Dufy, alongside contemporary artists like Maria and Natalia Arendt, Anton and Alexey Yakovlev, and Misha Marker. In total, more than a thousand works will be on display. Additionally, there will be two exhibitions dedicated to contemporary artists Ivan Smirnov and Gart Shtapakov.
The parallel program offers a rich selection of events, including a screening of Matthias Glasner’s drama “Life,” which explores the existential crises of a family, and a concert of electronic experimental music by Egor Ananko and Vika Kharkevich, residents of the House of Radio, on August 2nd. The fair will conclude with a performance by a quartet of soloists from musicAeterna, featuring works by A. Glazunov and M. Nikodievich.
The Lev Lurie House of Culture is providing an extensive lecture program. Vadim Vysotsky will discuss St. Petersburg’s Italian influences, while Alexander Dedinkin will delve into the toponymy of the city. Anna Markovich will present on the “Golden Triangle” district, and Nikita Eliseev will explore the history of Nevsky Prospekt. Viktor Amchislavsky will highlight Jewish cultural figures associated with Arts Square. Egor Lapshin will conduct tours of the Beggrov House and share the history of the House of Radio.
Costume designer Tatyana Noginova will deliver lectures on the history of costume, and blogger Anton Vanyushov will discuss creating videos about the city’s history. Collectors Nikolai Kononikhin and Kirill Avelev will share insights into their graphics collection. Semyon Nekrasov will present a lecture on the history of St. Petersburg street art.
