An underground reservoir, constructed between the 10th and 11th centuries, is set to open to the public within the Derbent Museum-Reserve. This announcement was made by the museum complex’s press service on May 30.
The reservoir is a key component of Derbent’s ancient water supply system. This system ingeniously channeled water from mountain springs through a network of underground channels and specialized reservoirs.
The new tourist route promises visitors a firsthand experience of the unique and well-preserved heritage dating back to ancient times, according to the museum’s press service.
