A pilot is in serious condition after an An-2 airplane crash-landed in the Saratov region on June 5th. The incident occurred near the village of Novorepnoye, where the aircraft reportedly struck a power line before crashing into a field and catching fire.

The pilot was immediately transported to the Central District Hospital of Yershov for medical treatment. His condition is currently listed as serious.

Authorities are investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash. According to Yuri Yurin, head of the regional security department of the Saratov region government, the plane touched a power line.

The Western Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has organized a set of verification measures. These measures aim to establish all the causes, conditions, and circumstances surrounding the incident.
