An An-2 aircraft sustained significant damage to its wing in Yakutia, Russia, following an emergency landing prompted by the activation of its radio beacon. Footage released by the East Siberian Transport Prosecutor’s Office on June 10 reveals the extent of the damage, with the aircraft’s left wing nearly completely crushed and the plane lodged between trees.
The crew, consisting of two pilots and a specialist observer, reportedly survived the incident with only bruises and abrasions. Images show them walking away from the damaged aircraft towards rescue personnel.
The Yakut Transport Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident, focusing on compliance with aviation safety regulations.
Rosaviatsiya has classified the event as an accident and will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the emergency landing. The crew was evacuated to the village of Teply Klyuch by helicopter.
