The Pantsir-SMD-E anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) has undergone a significant upgrade, quadrupling its ammunition load. This advancement was revealed by Rostec General Director Sergey Chemezov during a report to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The updated Pantsir-SMD-E now features mini-missiles, enabling it to carry 48 missiles instead of the previous 12.
Chemezov emphasized the importance of this increased capacity for effectively countering drone attacks, stating that the original ammunition load could prove insufficient in the face of mass raids.
Rostec is modernizing its equipment based on feedback from military personnel and repair crews operating in the special operation zone.
