Alexander Pushnoy, known for his diverse career spanning KVN, music, and television, recently reflected on his various projects, university days, and his 50th birthday. In an interview, he shared insights into his current endeavors and past experiences.
Pushnoy currently hosts “Physicists and Lyricists” on “Mayak” radio, a popular science program where he focuses on the physics aspects. He also participates in the television show “Five Against One” on “Russia-1” as a contestant, finding the guessing game format particularly engaging. He also runs a YouTube channel called “Rock is Alive,” where he discusses his favorite rock bands.
Regarding his musical preferences, Pushnoy expressed his love for Metallica and “Kalinov Most,” particularly their album “Darza.” While he acknowledges new artists, he admits he doesn’t closely follow them, noting the cyclical nature of music. He mentioned Greta Van Fleet as an example of a modern band reviving the sound and style of classic rock bands like Led Zeppelin.
Pushnoy doesn’t actively seek to appeal to younger audiences, preferring to focus on projects that interest him personally. He recalled his time hosting the educational program “Galileo,” sharing anecdotes about experiments and occasional mishaps. He emphasized the importance of making complex topics understandable for the viewers.
Celebrating his 50th birthday with a concert organized by his director, Pushnoy stated that it was the best gift he could receive. Reflecting on his youth, he admitted he never imagined reaching this age and doesn’t feel nostalgic for that period, citing the challenges he faced during that time.
