Alcohol Sales Restricted During Yekaterinburg City Day and Surrounding Dates

Alcohol sales will be restricted in Yekaterinburg during City Day celebrations and on several other days in August. A complete ban on alcohol sales will be enforced in areas where City Day events are taking place.

The restrictions extend beyond the official City Day holiday on August 16. Specific zones will be affected by the alcohol ban on various dates throughout the month.

Several zones will be affected during specific timeframes. These include: August 9, from 10:00 to 23:00 in the area of Malysheva – 8 Marta – Boris Yeltsin – Chelyuskintsev – Rabochaya Molodezhi Embankment – Pushkina; August 10, from 08:00 to 15:00 in the area of Boris Yeltsin – Chelyuskintsev – Rabochaya Molodezhi Embankment; August 13 to August 16, from 08:00 to 19:00 on Kirova, from Vikulova Street to Zavodskaya Street; August 15, from 16:00 to 22:00 in the area of Malysheva – 8 Marta – Lenina Avenue – Pushkina Street; August 16, from 08:00 to 23:00 in the area of Marshala Zhukova – Khokhryakova – Malysheva – Karla Libknehta – Nikolaya Nikonova – Krasny Pereulok – Chelyuskintsev; August 16 and 17, from 10:00 to 23:00 on Repina Street, from Svetlorechenskaya Street to Shaitansky Pereulok; August 23, from 10:00 to 23:00 – V.V. Mayakovsky Park and Bazovy Pereulok from Yalamova Street to Mashinnaya Street, on Tkachei Street, as well as within the boundaries of Vostochnaya – Bolshakova – Lunacharskogo – Tkachei streets.

The City Day celebrations will feature various events, including a concert on August 9 in Historical Square with Dima Bilan. Mary Gu is scheduled to be one of the headliners for City Day.

Other highlights include the “Miss Yekaterinburg” competition, with the winner receiving a trip for two to Japan, and a city wedding tradition.
