AirNet Internet Provider in St. Petersburg Suffers DDoS Attack

AirNet, a major internet service provider in St. Petersburg, Russia, reported a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack on July 30th, impacting its network services. The company acknowledged that while services are still operational, some resources might experience unavailability due to traffic filtering measures.

The attack prompted collaboration with GlobalNet, a backbone provider, and the National System for Countering DDoS Attacks (NSPA), a division of Roskomnadzor, to safeguard the network.

At the time of the announcement, AirNet’s website was inaccessible.

This incident follows a previous large-scale attack experienced by AirNet several months prior.

Founded in 2004, AirNet ranks among the top 10 internet providers in St. Petersburg. It offers services such as high-speed internet, digital HDTV, telephony, and video surveillance, while claiming 24/7 customer support.

LLC “St. Petersburg Computer Networks,” fully owned by Igor Titov, owns the domain airnet.ru. The company reported a revenue of 84.6 million rubles and a net profit of 3.8 million rubles at the close of 2023.
