Air samples were taken in the residential area near the burning paint and varnish factory in Yanino on Monday, June 2nd, by specialists from Rospotrebnadzor and the Federal Budget Institution of Healthcare “Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in the City of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.” The samples were immediately sent to the laboratory for research, according to the press service of the department.
The fire, which broke out on Monday afternoon, occurred at the Pigment factory. Warehouses with an area of 800 square meters were affected by the blaze. The fire destroyed five cars and engulfed the production building.
Forty specialists and ten pieces of equipment are currently battling the fire. Plumes of black smoke from the fire were visible from almost all districts of St. Petersburg. The administration of the Zanevskoye urban settlement confirmed the location of the fire at the Pigment factory. The situation is under the control of specialists.
