Ataullah Omari, the Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock of Afghanistan, will head the Afghan delegation at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). The delegation’s participation underscores Afghanistan’s interest in fostering international economic relations and exploring opportunities for growth.
A group of Afghan representatives, including Deputy Minister of Economy Abdul Latif Nazari, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ahmadullah Zahida, and Afghan businessmen and investors, has already departed for Russia.
Omari is slated to present a report focusing on agricultural development and strategies for achieving economic growth.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum continues to expand its reach, with participant numbers already exceeding last year’s by 20%. According to SPIEF Director Alexey Valkov, the forum is seeing significant growth in its international presence.
Bahrain will be the guest country at the forum, which will also be attended by the President of Indonesia and a delegation from Saudi Arabia.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has extended invitations to entrepreneurs from Vietnam to attend SPIEF-2025.
Interest from American companies in participating has also been reported by Roscongress.
President Vladimir Putin will also attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in 2025, sending greetings to participants, organizers, and guests. The forum will be held in St. Petersburg from June 18 to 21.
