Aeroflot has announced the full restoration of its regular flight schedule following a recent disruption. The airline confirmed on July 30 that operations have returned to normal after an information systems failure.
The disruption, which caused numerous flight cancellations and delays on the morning of July 28, was initially attributed to a system failure. Subsequent reports indicated that a large-scale cyberattack was the cause of the issues.
In response to the incident, the Prosecutor General’s Office has initiated a criminal case related to unauthorized access to computer information. The investigation is underway to determine the full extent of the cyberattack and identify those responsible.
The Ministry of Transport announced on July 29 that Aeroflot had successfully recovered from the cyberattack with the assistance of domestically developed systems. This intervention allowed the airline to begin restoring its flight schedule and addressing the backlog of affected passengers.
