Sadam-Gusen Abdulhamidov has been remanded in custody until August 15th, following accusations of hooliganism on Rubinstein Street in St. Petersburg. The Kuibyshevsky District Court made the decision on June 18th.
The investigation indicates that Abdulhamidov, acting as part of a group, initiated a fight near the “Major” bar in the early hours of June 15th. The group allegedly attacked multiple individuals, including teenagers.
Video evidence shows Abdulhamidov and an accomplice delivering slaps and punches. Furthermore, a woman was allegedly sprayed with pepper spray by someone in the group.
Authorities requested pre-trial detention, citing Abdulhamidov’s lack of permanent residence, registration, and stable employment in St. Petersburg. It was also noted that he lacks a legal source of income and has prior convictions for drug offenses and attempted theft. The prosecution argued that his fleeing the scene after the incident on Rubinstein Street indicated a risk of him attempting to evade justice if released.
