Novosibirsk is expected to experience a decrease in temperature starting June 21st, according to the West Siberian UGMS. The region will see continued heat until June 20th, with temperatures reaching +28…+30 degrees in the eastern part of the region.
A significant cooling trend is anticipated after June 25th, according to Natalia Kichanova, head of the weather forecast department.
The past long weekend saw several temperature records broken across the region. From June 12th to 14th, Kargat, Barabinsk, and Moshkovo all recorded maximum temperatures. Iskitim experienced the highest temperature, reaching +34 degrees on June 14th, surpassing the previous record of +33.8 degrees set in 1975.
On June 13th, the Obskaya station recorded a temperature of +30.6 degrees, exceeding the previous record of +30.1 degrees set in 2016.
Following a brief respite, Novosibirsk is bracing for another surge of abnormal heat. Temperatures in the city are expected to climb to +33 degrees in the coming days, with some areas of the region potentially reaching +34 degrees.
