A nurse from Krasnoobsk, in the Novosibirsk region, is being hailed as a hero after assisting a young woman experiencing health issues on an S7 flight from Novosibirsk to Mineralnye Vody. The incident occurred in May, and the woman she helped, a journalist from Tomsk, has launched a public appeal to find and thank her.

The nurse, Vera Nikolaevna, a seasoned medical professional with 50 years of experience, including 40 years at her local clinic, was traveling to Mineralnye Vody for a vacation. As a participant in S7’s “Doctors on Board” program, she was quickly located by the flight attendants when Daria, the journalist, needed help.

Vera Nikolaevna modestly describes her actions as routine. She measured Daria’s blood pressure, administered medication from her personal supply, guided her on proper posture to improve blood circulation, and offered reassurance. Daria reportedly felt better after receiving the nurse’s care.

Daria, who was traveling to Mineralnye Vody to visit a friend, explained that she usually prefers seats closer to the front of the plane but was assigned a seat in the tail section on this particular flight. She was surprised that the flight attendants did not offer her medical assistance.

Vera Nikolaevna learned about Daria’s search through relatives who saw the social media appeal. While grateful for the kind words, she feels somewhat embarrassed by the attention, viewing her actions as a normal part of her duty to help others. S7 has been asked to comment on the situation.
