Authorities are investigating an incident in Khimki, Moscow region, where a group of teenagers allegedly attacked a man with pepper spray after he confronted them about their disruptive behavior. The incident has sparked outrage among local residents, who say the group of schoolchildren has been terrorizing the Novokurkino microdistrict for three years.
The victim, a 46-year-old man who repairs equipment under a microscope, is currently hospitalized with a corneal burn. His ability to work is now in jeopardy due to the injury. According to reports, the man approached the group of teenagers on a playground to ask them to quiet down when he was sprayed in the face.
Local residents claim the schoolchildren frequently gather in the courtyard to drink, make noise, swear, and litter. Despite numerous complaints to the police and local administration, the problem persists. Residents also allege that alcohol is readily available to minors in nearby stores.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Moscow Region confirmed they are investigating the incident. Police are currently searching for the teenagers involved in the pepper spray attack. Authorities received a report of a public order violation on a playground on Molodezhnaya Street and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the conflict.
