A 22-year-old St. Petersburg resident is receiving medical treatment after shooting himself in the hand multiple times with a traumatic pistol.

The incident occurred several days before the individual sought medical attention. Doctors at a local emergency room were tasked with removing the bullets from his forearm.

According to the police report, the man admitted to shooting himself intentionally. He claimed he was curious to experience the pain inflicted by such a weapon. The man discharged the pistol three times into his own forearm.
