A 66-year-old cyclist died in the hospital after being struck by a 72-year-old female driver in the Volkhov district of the Leningrad region. The accident occurred in the village of Kuti.

According to the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, the cyclist was traveling along the roads of Kuti when the incident happened on June 1st.

The cyclist, while making a turn, allegedly failed to yield and proceeded onto the road without ensuring his safety. At the same time, a 72-year-old woman was driving her Hyundai in the same area.

The cyclist suffered severe injuries as a result of the collision and passed away in the hospital the following day.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is currently in progress.
