Ukraine has been accused of launching drone attacks targeting airfields across five regions of Russia, including the Irkutsk region in Siberia, marking the first time this region has been hit. The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the incidents, labeling them a “terrorist act” carried out by the Kyiv regime using FPV drones.
The attacks targeted military airfields in the Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur regions. According to the Ministry of Defense, the attacks in the Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur regions were successfully repelled.
However, in the Murmansk and Irkutsk regions, the drone attacks resulted in fires affecting several units of aviation equipment. The Ministry of Defense stated that the drones were launched from territory in close proximity to the airfields.
Firefighters have extinguished the fires, and authorities have detained some individuals involved in the attacks. The Ministry of Defense reported that there were no casualties among military or civilian personnel.
