Russian President Vladimir Putin has advocated for the creation of dual-purpose product manufacturing, calling for the organization of facilities able to produce both civilian and military goods. He issued this directive during a plenary session at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum on June 20.
Putin stressed the importance of eliminating the traditional separation between defense-industrial and civilian enterprises, moving away from the established practice of categorizing factories based on their output.
“We will take into account our negative experience,” the President stated, indicating a lesson learned from past inefficiencies.
He highlighted the significant advancements and increased production volumes within the Russian defense industry. The President affirmed Russia’s commitment to equipping its armed forces with state-of-the-art equipment, prioritizing systems that have been tested and proven effective in real-world scenarios.
