A large fire near the village of Bukachacha in the Chernyshevsky district caused a two-day power outage and water shortage for the neighboring settlement. The fire, which destroyed 12 power line supports near the village of Bukhta, has since merged with two other fires and spread into the forest.
The head of the district, Alexander Podoynitsyn, reported that the incident left Bukachacha without electricity, impacting the operation of the water pumping station. As a result, the local population faced water shortages for two days. Water trucks were used to distribute water, and a storage tank was utilized, but supplies were dwindling before power was restored.
Electricity was restored and water supply resumed, however, the fire continues to burn and has not been contained. According to Podoynitsyn, the fire has merged with two others and is now heading towards the Tungokochensky district, specifically the area of the Nerchugan River.
The total area affected by the fire is estimated to be approximately 42,000 hectares. Currently, settlements are not under immediate threat from the fire. The only reported damage so far was in Bukachacha, where a fence and shed of an abandoned house caught fire, but firefighters were able to quickly extinguish it.
