A drone attack targeted a military unit in the village of Sredny, Usolsky district, marking the first such incident in Siberia. The attack prompted a swift response from local authorities and emergency services.

According to preliminary information, the attack involved multiple drones, with one striking an old building in Novomaltinsk. Authorities are still determining the exact number of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) involved.

The Governor of the region, Igor Kobzev, confirmed the drone attack and assured residents that there was no immediate threat to their lives or health. He also stated that the source from which the drones were launched, identified as a truck, has been blocked.

Following reports of a large-scale fire in the village of Sredny, operational and law enforcement services, including FSB officers, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and Rosgvardia fighters, were deployed to the scene. An operational headquarters was established, and Governor Kobzev traveled to the Usolsky district.

While the mayor of Usolye-Sibirskoye, Maxim Toropkin, confirmed the drone attack, neither the FSB nor the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations have provided official comments. The incident caused a significant traffic jam in the Usolsky district as movement was temporarily blocked.
