The Investigative Committee of Russia has classified the bombings of railway bridges in the Bryansk and Kursk regions as terrorist acts. This announcement was made on June 1st by Svetlana Petrenko, an official representative of the agency.

Criminal cases concerning these incidents have been transferred to the Main Investigation Department on the instructions of the Chairman of the IC.

On the evening of May 31st, an automobile bridge collapsed onto a Klimovo-Moscow passenger train on the Pilshino-Vygonichi section in the Bryansk region due to an explosion. Seven people died, and more than 70 were injured in the Bryansk region incident. The train was under the bridge when the structure failed.

A few hours later, a similar incident occurred in the Kursk region on the Ostapovo-Mikhailovsky Rudnik section, where a bridge was blown up, resulting in the derailment of a freight train. The driver and his two assistants sustained injuries.

The Investigative Committee of Russia is currently investigating both cases, with investigators and rescuers actively working at the scenes.
