Heavy rains caused significant flooding in Yekaterinburg on June 18, impacting roads and even residential buildings. Residents of a high-rise on Zolotistiy Boulevard in the Solnechny microdistrict experienced flooding within their apartments, particularly on the upper floors.

The rapid influx of water, reportedly reaching the 11th floor and ankle-deep in some areas, shocked residents. Concerns were raised about potential short circuits and the risk of mold growth.

Footage depicts apartments with flooded floors, water running down ceilings and walls, and dripping from light fixtures.

The Solnechny Management Company, responsible for the building’s maintenance, attributed the leak to a roofing issue. An inspection of the roof is scheduled for June 19, but emergency repairs were deemed impossible at the time of the incident.

Further complicating matters, weather forecasters issued an emergency warning for June 19, anticipating more heavy rains and hail.
