Flooding on Selkorovskaya Street in Yekaterinburg Causes Concern for Motorists

Yekaterinburg’s Selkorovskaya Street has been severely flooded following recent rainfall, raising concerns for drivers. The deluge has created hazardous conditions, with some vehicles reportedly submerged up to their headlights.

The heavy rainfall overwhelmed the existing storm drain system, leading to the widespread flooding. Motorists are being warned of the potential for hydrolock, a serious engine issue that can occur when water enters the engine.

Another video captured from a passing train near the Keramik station further illustrates the extent of the flooding on Selkorovskaya Street.

Emergency services are urging drivers to avoid flooded areas. If caught in a flooded area, drivers should slowly move to the far right lane, stop without braking sharply, activate hazard lights, and wait for the heavy rain to subside.

The regional Ministry of Emergency Situations has issued an emergency warning about expected heavy rains. Residents are advised to call 112 in case of emergency.

Previously, Pekhotintsev Street was known for significant flooding after rains, but measures were taken to address the issue. Motorists are reminded of the risks of hydrolock during floods and advised on how to navigate deep puddles.
