A pregnant woman was hospitalized with a threatened miscarriage after a detached wheel from a passing VAZ-2107 struck the Nissan Qashqai she was riding in as a passenger on Luchistaya Street in Yekaterinburg. The driver of the VAZ-2107 fled the scene and is currently being sought by police.

The incident occurred around 11:00 PM when the wheel of the VAZ-2107 detached and rolled into the path of the oncoming Nissan.

The driver of the Nissan, while attempting to avoid a collision with the VAZ-2107, braked and swerved, resulting in damage to the vehicle including a torn bumper, damaged wheel, and headlight.

The occupants of the VAZ-2107 initially attempted to drive away without the wheel but abandoned the vehicle approximately 200 meters from the scene. They then allegedly removed the license plates and fled toward the Koltsovsky highway, leaving the car behind. Authorities found bottles of alcohol inside the abandoned VAZ-2107.

The pregnant passenger in the Nissan reported feeling unwell after the accident and was transported to the hospital by paramedics in a resuscitation vehicle due to concerns about a possible miscarriage. The driver of the Nissan sustained shock but refused hospitalization.

The regional traffic police have confirmed the incident and are actively searching for the driver of the VAZ-2107.
