Vologda customs officials discovered over 40 kilograms of undeclared human hair in the luggage of a 37-year-old passenger arriving from Dubai. The hair, valued at 4.3 million rubles, was found on Tuesday, June 17, according to the Federal Customs Service.

The woman’s two suitcases, which she attempted to carry through the “green” corridor, contained approximately 200 bundles of long hair. Customs officers became suspicious and inspected the luggage, leading to the discovery.

The passenger claimed she intended to deliver the hair to a beauty salon. She also stated that she was unaware of the requirement to declare the goods.

As a result of the undeclared cargo, an administrative offense case has been opened against the woman. The investigation is ongoing.
