St. Petersburg has announced a ban on personal mobility devices (PMDs) in six districts during the XXVIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The city’s transport committee issued the warning on June 17, outlining the restrictions.
The ban will be in effect from midnight on June 18 to 4 PM on June 22. The affected districts include Admiralteysky, Vasileostrovsky, Moskovsky, Petrogradsky, Pushkinsky, and Central.
The prohibition covers a range of PMDs, including electric scooters, electric skateboards, gyroscooters, segways, monowheels, and bicycles with an electric motor.
Authorities will increase monitoring to ensure compliance with the ban. The decision to implement these restrictions stems from the Operational Headquarters of St. Petersburg, aimed at bolstering law enforcement and guaranteeing public safety during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, according to the committee.
