Moscow to Reconstruct Rosstat Statistics Research Institute Building

Moscow has approved the reconstruction of the Rosstat Statistics Research Institute building on Izmailovskoye Highway, with completion slated for 2029. The project includes demolishing the existing structure, built in 1972, and replacing it with a modern tower.

The reconstructed building will feature a white and blue color scheme and architectural lighting to enhance the area’s nighttime appearance. While the current building stands at 110 meters, the new design will reduce the height to 80 meters.

Inside, the renovated Rosstat building will house employee offices, an archive for 200,000 storage units, meeting rooms, a conference hall, a gym, and a medical office. The reconstruction will also involve upgrading the facades, reinforcing supporting structures, and installing new elevators and engineering systems.

The project tender was published in 2023 with a minimum contract price of 5.4 billion rubles. Landscaping of the surrounding area is also planned, including the planting of trees, creation of recreation areas, and installation of bicycle parking.

During the reconstruction period, Rosstat employees will be relocated to other buildings, including offices on Izmailovsky Val and a warehouse on Budyonny Avenue. The relocation, estimated at 8.8 million rubles, is scheduled to be completed by December 20.
